Anyhow, here’s one of my favorite songs.
I’ve heard a few versions of this song, I believe Titus Turner does one as well, but this is my favorite version. I’ve even heard some other version done by Little Milton. Tal Farlow is my all time favorite jazz guitarist, possibly favorite guitarist period. He has always been a great inspiration to me because he is a North Carolinian like myself and actually did not start playing guitar until the age of 21 (also like myself). I could go on about why he is great, but I’ll stop here. Enjoy the tune, it’s sort of a go to rainy day song for me. I added a little sound effect to the end, which I may continue to do; mostly to entertain myself.

Hi, Just wanted to say i have enjoyed listening to your posts while browsing through my dashboard.

How do you record it? and is it all vinyl?
I want to start recording my vinyl and post it here too, i play mine via an old portable bush player so i'd appreciate any advise you can give.
Cheers.

Thanks! I’m glad you are enjoying it.

It is all vinyl. I try to find songs that I like that aren’t available on youtube and other sites, because I want other people to have access to them. I actually have a player that digitizes vinyl, but to be honest, it doesn’t work quite as well as miking the speakers on my other player. I use an Audio Technica USB condenser mic to capture it and a recording program to edit the tracks the best I can.

I hope this helps and I hope you can start recording some tunes, I’d like to hear them!

This song was recorded off the album “Body and...

This song was recorded off the album “Body and Soul”. It was hard to capture the sound of this record because of the vocal inflections. Check it out!

Classic song. I actually have copy from a CD, but I decided to...

Classic song. I actually have copy from a CD, but I decided to record it directly from the record anyways; in case anyone enjoys the crackle and pops. This version came from the album “King of the Delta Blues Singers”.

As recorded off of one of my favorite albums, “Folk...

As recorded off of one of my favorite albums, “Folk Singer”

This track was recorded from a reissue of the album...

This track was recorded from a reissue of the album “Today!”. If you can make it through til the end I’ve added a little bonus. A voice mail I received from a wrong number. Enjoy!
