—Never Gonna Give You Up
Hey guys. I haven’t updated this in awhile, and I realized quite a few people are actually following this!
Anyhow, here’s one of my favorite songs. Enjoy your Friday Evening!
—Never Gonna Give You Up
Hey guys. I haven’t updated this in awhile, and I realized quite a few people are actually following this!
Anyhow, here’s one of my favorite songs. Enjoy your Friday Evening!
—Grits Ain't Groceries (All Around The World)
If I don’t love you baby, Grits ain’t groceries, eggs ain’t poultry, and Mona Lisa was a man.
I’ve heard a few versions of this song, I believe Titus Turner does one as well, but this is my favorite version. I’ve even heard some other version done by Little Milton. Check it out!
—I Need Some Money
This is a digital file. No time for nonsense right now. I need some money.
—Ol' 55
—Someone Else You've Known
Classic country. Recorded in 1966. This has always been a favorite Merle Haggard song of mine.
—Porgy
“Porgy” from the album “Holiday for Soul Dance” by Sun-Ra and his Astro Infinity Arkestra. Sometimes known as “I loves you, Porgy”, but it is marked as simply “Porgy” on this album. Nicely done rendition of this tune. I try to keep from analyzing these songs and giving you my opinion, so you’ll just have to check it out!
—You Don't Know What Love Is
As recorded off the album, “Tal.” This comes from a 1981 Japanese pressing of the original 1956 album. Tal Farlow is my all time favorite jazz guitarist, possibly favorite guitarist period. He has always been a great inspiration to me because he is a North Carolinian like myself and actually did not start playing guitar until the age of 21 (also like myself). I could go on about why he is great, but I’ll stop here. Enjoy the tune, it’s sort of a go to rainy day song for me. I added a little sound effect to the end, which I may continue to do; mostly to entertain myself.
Thanks! I’m glad you are enjoying it.
It is all vinyl. I try to find songs that I like that aren’t available on youtube and other sites, because I want other people to have access to them. I actually have a player that digitizes vinyl, but to be honest, it doesn’t work quite as well as miking the speakers on my other player. I use an Audio Technica USB condenser mic to capture it and a recording program to edit the tracks the best I can.
I hope this helps and I hope you can start recording some tunes, I’d like to hear them!
—See if you can git to that
This song was recorded off the album “Body and Soul”. It was hard to capture the sound of this record because of the vocal inflections. Check it out!
